“CHS offers so many awesome opportunities to enhance its students’ experience at CHS. There is an equal support from the Arts, as well as Sports, and a great array of AP Courses that students can challenge themselves with.”
Who was your favorite teacher or administrator during your time at CHS? What subject did they teach? What made her or him special?
I can’t pinpoint just one teacher that is my “favorite,” but I can name a few that have impacted me throughout my high school career that I can’t put one above the other. Ms. Scotto and Ms. MacDonald have both equally pushed me to succeed in, and keep/achieve my interest in the Arts, specifically my photography. Mrs. Delaney for helping me sort out my college/life decisions, and for nurturing my love for Biology. Finally I would also put Mrs. Proulx on my list because I give her credit for motivating me to care about my grades, and to compete/work hard to do well in school.
What is something about CHS that people might not know, but should?
I think that people have to know that CHS is a fantastic learning institution compared to other public High Schools in the state/country. A lot of people say that CHS is bad, or they just don’t like the school for some reason, but I would like them to know that CHS is a great high school with amazing opportunities (both academic and extra curricular) for students, and an amazing staff that will help you however they can.
What advice would you give to next year’s ninth grade students coming to CHS?
My advice to incoming freshman is that they should start to care about their grades and academics right in their freshman year, and continue throughout their four years. I made the mistake of waiting until my junior year to start caring, and my rank and GPA suffered greatly. It is essential for incoming freshman to take pride in their academics early on. It’s worth it.
What makes CHS special? Why?
CHS is special because, like I mentioned above, the school offers so many awesome opportunities to enhance its students’ experience at CHS. There is an equal support from the Arts, as well as Sports, and a great array of AP Courses that students can challenge themselves with.
