“Take the classes that you find intriguing while also challenging yourself. Don’t take classes for the sake of building your transcript, especially if it is a class you are not invested in.”
Who was your favorite teacher or administrator during your time at CHS? What subject did they teach? What made her or him special?
Without question, my favorite teacher at CHS is Mr. Dansereau. He was my Pre-Calc teacher during my junior year. Prior to his math class, I had always enjoyed and appreciated mathematics. However, Mr. Dansereau taught in such a way that my love for math, especially trigonometry and calculus, began to grow exponentially. He is dedicated to mathematics and he ensures that every student fully understands the concepts or theorems at hand. I can not thank Mr. Dansereau enough for everything that he has done for me! I also have to give a big shout out and a big thank you to my Algebra 2 teacher, Mr. Beaudreault, and AP Calculus teacher, Mrs. Jahnz!
What is something about CHS that people might not know, but should?
After sophomore year, there is so much freedom in regards to your schedule. Aside from math, English, and gym, junior and senior year schedules are completely unique to each student. This leaves students a wide selection of electives to choose from to complete their schedules. There are courses ranging from Business Management to Ceramics to Computer Engineering. Selecting courses that suit your interests will make junior and senior year that much more enjoyable!
What advice would you give to next year’s ninth grade students coming to CHS?
Do not stress yourself out! Take the classes that you find intriguing while also challenging yourself. Don’t take classes for the sake of building your transcript, especially if it is a class you are not invested in. High school only lasts four years, and you can never get the time back. Enjoy it while you can because, believe me, it goes by fast!
What makes CHS special? Why?
What makes CHS special is the possibility that every student can find that one teacher with whom they feel a special connection. That teacher just seems to “get” you. They come to know you not only academically but personally as well.
